INTERFAITH INITIATIVE OF SANTA BARBARA COUNTY

Welcome

The mission of the Interfaith Initiative of Santa Barbara County is to promote understanding, respect, and cooperative activities among major faith traditions in our community.

Our Vision is of … a peaceful, connected community in which all religions are respected, and in which members’ housing, education, and health needs are met, where fair and equitable access to economic and social well-being prevail, and where no one is homeless, hungry, hated or excluded.

We believe … that the diversity of our community is an asset worthy of celebration, and that our mutual interdependence is strengthened and fortified by the shared values of our respective faith traditions. That through service in partnership with individuals, agencies, and organizations who share our vision, humane solutions can be found to local issues and needs.

Participants are diverse and include Jewish, Muslim, Catholic, Bahai, Buddhist, Sai Baba, Christian Science, Quaker, Unitarian, Unity, and Protestant denominations, such as Lutheran, Methodist, and Evangelical groups. Our Board of Directors & Staff also represent a wide variety of faith traditions.

Please visit our calendar to see upcoming events we feel will be of interest to the interfaith community.
